About Gary "Mo" Moore

Gary Mo Moore, a native of Hampton, VA, is a recently retired professional certified agent.  He is now the President and Founder of Gary Moore Speaks, and Crossover Promotions LLC. as well as a sought after Transformational Speaker.

Gary completed a life long dream of writing his own life story in a published memoir entitled, Realizing the Answer-Developing the Dreams of Tomorrow Today.  In the newly completed 2nd Edition he speaks of how he was able to use the personal tragedy and adversity to be the catalyst for making a difference in the lives of others.  After the death of his beloved nephew, he witnessed and played an active role in the phenomenal rise from a childhood of crushing poverty to the heights of international acclaim for one of today's greatest professional athletes.  Moore served as mentor and chief advisor to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Allen Iverson throughout his life and NBA career.

Gary is a seasoned veteran in the world of sports.  From his humble beginning as a young man seeking to find his own way through life, he followed in his father's footsteps and became "Coach Mo" the youth football coach. He sought to teach others the game of life and in this particular assignment became a life-long mentor to many.  In August of 2010,  he received certification from the NBPA to be an NBA Agent.  He also joined forces with the producers of MGM's hit movie Barbershop to create the documentary entitled, "IVERSON" where he served as its Executive Producer.

As the founder and creator of the Allen Iverson Celebrity Summer Classic, Moore was instrumental in developing a team of volunteers that created arguably one of the most anticipated charitable events of its kind.  The event was unique in its ability to combine celebrity and fan participation in a manner that generated fun for the entire family and at the same time raising awareness and financial support to the needs of the community. It was philanthropy at its best.

In addition to empowering his clients with the keys to success, Moore himself is a Philanthropist. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula (BGCVP) and a key contributor to a Donor Advised Fund naming it "The Iverson Fund" at the Peninsula Community Foundation.  He also established the Albert Moore Sr. Memorial Education Endowed Scholarship at Bowie State (BSU) and Johnson C. Smith (JCSU) University's, as well as mentoring programs throughout the country.

Moore currently resides in Suffolk, Virginia with his wife Phyllis.  They have one adult daughter.
