Gary "Mo" Moore, a native of Hampton, VA. He is published author, motivational speaker, teacher, mentor, coach and life-long community leader. After 25 years in the sports industry in many important roles shaping the careers of professional athletes, building brands, and connecting corporate partners to talent, Gary wrote his inaugural book telling his story of mentoring, managing, and making a difference.
Gary’s passion has always been working with young people and aiding in their plight to adulthood. In 1984, Moore following in a tradition set by his father became the Head Coach of the Aberdeen Raiders which is a youth football program in the community where he was raised. The football field was only the beginning of a bond that he would share with many of the neighborhood's youth. He taught young people the importance of education and commitment, which was always a prerequisite to being a part of his football programs.
Gary did his undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University and shortly after earned his spot as Director of Procurement & Materials Management at Hampton University. After a ten-year career at Hampton, Gary transitioned to Philadelphia where he served as the Personal Manager for Allen Iverson throughout his NBA career and in retirement for 23 years. Gary is a seasoned veteran in the sports world. In August 2010, he became certified as an agent through the National Basketball Players Association and created the vision for Moore Management & Entertainment (MME)and Crossover Promotions (CP) to emphasize the importance of training in Media and Public Relations, Money Management and Leadership, as well as Special Event Planning. The quest was to build additional career opportunities outside of sports for his clients. He has maintained strong relationships with key influencers in the sports and entertainment industry.
Moore is a regular contributor to the Peninsula Community Foundation, Scholarship Endowment Programs for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's), serves as a co-chair for the Bowie State University Foundation's Annual Golf Tournament, and mentoring programs throughout the nation.
